Acetylfentanyl is a potent opioid analgesic with a potency approximately 6.67x that of morphine, sold only as a designer drug since the 1980s.
Not much is currently known about the history of acetylfentanyl, except that it was discovered at the same time as fentanyl, and has no currently acceptable medical use.

As acetlyfentanyl is fairly potent, proper weighing of doses is essential, as well as proper identification of the substance.
There have been at least 14 reported acetylfentanyl related deaths in Rhode Island, 50 in Pennsylvania, as well as a handful others around the United States.
